Who we are
The SIG93 Graduate Network is for graduate students connected to AERA Special Interest Group 93. In broad terms, we focus on four things:
Building a network. Life in graduate school can be hard, and it helps to talk with people who are on the same path. We aim to get to know one another and support each other along the way.
Meeting after monthly webinars. SIG93 hosts a webinar every month; we gather online right afterward to reflect together and share our thoughts on the session.
Webinars aimed at graduate students’ interests. Our webinars address practical topics relevant to graduate students, such as, but not limited to, job searching, preparing application materials, navigating the academic job market, and transitioning from student to faculty roles. Examples are here.
The Invisible College roundtable. We host a roundtable so graduate students can share their work-in-progress and learn from faculty at other institutions—and so SIG93 members can stand behind graduate students across the field. Invisible College Graduate Roundtable in AERA 2026
That is the heart of what we do. If you are a graduate student, or you work with graduate students, please share this site. Here you will find an email list signup, a place for suggestions, and webinar videos. You do not need to be an AERA SIG93 member to join the list; signing up is how we share updates and next steps.
